In less than two weeks Solar Citizens is attending one of the largest gatherings of the solar industry – the Smart Energy Expo – and we’re keen to spread the word about how to grow and protect solar in Australia. Can you help staff our stall?
With a federal election coming up this is the perfect opportunity to get on the front foot with our strategy for a clean energy future. That’s why we’ll be taking our first action – asking attendees to sign our open letter calling on federal politicians to embrace our renewable energy policy asks.
What: Smart Energy Expo 2019 & Solar Citizens Stall
When: Tuesday 2 April & Wednesday 3 April
Where: International Convention Centre, 14 Darling Dr, Sydney
While you’re at the Expo for our stall, you’ll be able to check out the stellar line-up of speakers and topics including:
- The power of the energy prosumer – Sophie Vorrath, RenewEconomy
- Australia’s smart energy future – Simon Holmes à Court, Energy Transition Hub
- The outlook for wholesale electricity prices as the NEM moves to 50% renewables by 2030 – David Leitch
- Activating consumers in the energy transition, the role for industry – Nicky Ison, Community Power Agency
You can find the full program here: https://www.smartenergyexpo.org.au/interactive-program-2019/
If there’s any group of people that should be interested in getting a renewable powered future, it has to be the solar industry! We’ll be encouraging attendees to sign our open letter and find out more about what we do, that’s why we are looking for people to help out on the stall for a few hours over the two days of the Expo.
Most of the sessions are just over an hour long, so there’s plenty of time to help out at the stall and then attend a session. As we are at the conference for two full days I’ve listed several shifts, feel free to sign up for more than one if you’re able.
Every voice counts, let’s find more to join us in seeking a clean energy future!
