Had not heard of SHAZA, http://www.energyrating.gov.au, Paul Dolphin Designs (and Paul gave a succinct rundown on the energy efficient house (( learnt a lot about thermal mass)), and principles of heat pumps – for when we are a bit older and have to relocate from rural. We have solar hot water with water jacket on wood heater (free wood) but do have to top up with electricity spring/autum and long cloud periods in warmer months sometimes. We have thermal mass (mudbrick feature wall) in our colourbond/blue board house but due to angle of sloped site this is in middle of house, receives very little sun and there is mould on mudbrick wall in southern bathroom. Next time!!! Why do I get 8cents/kw for solar when my aunt in Wollongong can get 20 from Origin? Any suggestions on how I can improve this in Wapengo 2550. Also do any of you know of someone who can upgrade my Pyramid power (bought during 39c/k.w promotion) 6 panels to 12. I have a 12 panel inverter) No one I’ve talked to will touch older technology.
