NSW solar owners can secure up to $2400 off the upfront cost of a new behind-the-meter battery

Many solar citizens will already be familiar with this incentive – known as the ‘Peak Demand Reduction Scheme’ – because it was your advocacy and campaigning throughout 2024 that made it happen!

From today, solar households in NSW can purchase a new battery for between $770 and $2400 less than they would normally pay, with an additional $250 – $400 incentive for joining a Virtual Power Plant (VPP).

By joining a VPP, battery owners can make money by feeding energy back into the grid during peak times, while helping to reduce reliance on coal-fired power and protect communities against blackouts.
