Key SHASA Achievements (2014-2025)

  • Run a solar bulk buy with MESA since 2017 which has resulted in over 1700kW of rooftop solar. 
  • Run workshops with Council to raise awareness of the benefits of rooftop solar and batteries. 
  • Held three successful EV Day – Electrify Everything Expos.
  • Solar installations on 20+ community facilities in the Eurobodalla to help reduce electricity and emissions.
  • Over 100 test drives in the SHASA electric vehicle.
  • Run a weekly Repair Cafe since August 2020 every Friday 9.30am –12.30pm at the Red Door Hall, Anglican Parish, Page St Moruya.
  • Developed a Eurobodalla Heatwave and Bushfire Haven Strategic Plan.
  • Upgraded 6 community owned facilities to operate as Bushfire and Heatwave Havens during extreme weather events.
  • Developed and letterboxed a flyer to 15,000 households on the economic benefits of strong climate action policies.
  • Run webinars on energy efficient buildings, energy efficient appliances and electric vehicles.
  • Worked with Nature Conservation Council to secure a $490m electric vehicles package from the NSW Government.
  • Assisted businesses to apply for NSW government 75% subsidy to install electric vehicle destination chargers.
  • Developed microgrid feasibility studies with ANU, Zepben and Essential Energy as part of the Southcoast Microgrid Reliability Feasibility (SµRF) Project.
  • Participating in the Eurobodalla Community Support Network.
  • Partnering with Indigo Power to try and secure funding for a community solar farm and community batteries in the Eurobodalla.
