Electrification is a critical priority in the upcoming federal election

March 21, 2025

Our electric community groups have launched into action this week, backing electrification as a critical priority in the upcoming federal election. Volunteers are busy putting up posters and hosting events across Australia with a key message: let’s electrify everything for everyone.

Demonstrating the groundswell of support for home electrification ahead of the election is powerful.  When communities lead, politicians listen—and your support ensures these voices continue to amplify our shared vision for Australia’s solar electric future.

What we’re calling for Four million Aussie homes already have their own solar power, and with help to electrify appliances and cars, they can save even more. But many more homes could benefit from the switch to electric. Together we are calling on decision-makers to help everyone – renters, pensioners, farmers, apartment dwellers, families in the suburbs – electrify everything.

We need urgent investment in: Households – To lower energy bills permanently
* Expanded rebates and subsidies for batteries & other electric appliances
* Renters reforms
* Access to low and no-cost loans
* Increased funding for First Nations and social housing Communities – To make the energy system fairer
* Fairer pricing for solar & batteries
* National EV charging infrastructure
* All electric new builds
* Educational programs and platforms Jobs and Industry – To support Aussie tradies and our energy future
* Investment in tradespeople training
* Incentives for businesses to support electrification
* Minimum energy performance standards for appliances
