The haven is open to church members, pantry members and others who are vulnerable to heat stress in a severe heatwave, or are in need of shelter and accommodation during bushfire emergencies and severe storms with power outages.

As a haven, the church can provide shelter for up to 200 people during the day, and between 100 to 150 for those needing overnight accommodation. However, the church currently does not have any campbeds so people would need to bring their own sleeping bags and air mattresses.

There are a number of buildings and spaces where people can shelter, including:
- the main church building
- a kitchen and dining building
- various offices and meeting rooms which can be used as sleeping quarters
- a parents room.

There are plans to extend the outdoor toilet block, which currently only has:
- 3 cubicles, including a disabled toilet and shower in the ladies toilet;
- 1 cubicle and urinal in the men’s toilet.

The church is equipped with:
- satellite and NBN internet
- airconditioning with HEPA filters and air purification
- backup generators
- solar panels
- solar battery
- water tanks x 2 with fire pumps and hoses.
There is ample parking for cars and caravans.
Pets can be accommodated in a contained yard.
