A generous donor has pledged to double all donations up to $2,500 made by 30 June 2026. Please give your tax deductible gift and your donation will be matched. 100% of funds donated are used to fund local resilience projects.
In 2026 the SHASA Public Fund provided money to a diversity of local projects, helping to fill a gap in funding for these types of projects. This included:
- $2,000 to print the Children’s Book Charlie’s Birthday Adventure A Kids Guide to being bushfire prepared
- $2,739 to supply and install an off-grid power supply including lights for the Tuross Community Garden so that they can have hot water for a cuppa and recharge their electric gardening tools on site
- $7,500 for the upgrade of the Tilba Halls
- $1,000 for a solar and battery system for Safe Havens Caravans – Tilba locals who source unwanted caravans and restore and give them to people in difficult circumstances
- $420 to the Moruya Mail to support our local newspaper
- $150 for the Batemans Bay Community Picnic Group for their Christmas Breakfast
- $150 for the rewiring at the Moruya Surf Life Savings Club
- $11,250 for the South Coast Community Kitchen which runs a monthly Community Picnic in Moruya and provides food parcels to families in need in the Batemans Bay Area (donation from Project Lighting in Canberra).
