ABA Bushfire Team Online Resources Supporting Parents & Families

September 20, 2024

The Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA) have online resources and encourage families to prepare for the upcoming bushfire season.

ABA have developed a quick guide that’s helpful for sparking conversations on how families can prepare.

ABA are also running an emergency prep week social media campaign, encouraging families to revisit their bushfire plans, update their evacuation kits to suit the needs of their growing family, and explore our comprehensive resource on evacuation kits for babies of different ages and feeding methods.

You can access all these resources here: Emergency Resources for Babies and Toddlers.

Follow our social media campaign here: @protectinginfantsinemergencies.

Upcoming Playdates with Emergency Services

We’re excited to be participating in the Playdates with Emergency Services. Organised by SES in conjunction with Eurobodalla Council Children’ Services, the playdates aim to:

  • Desensitise children to sirens and emergency responders
  • Educate families about disaster preparedness
  • Strengthen bonds between local services and the community

Events will be held:

  • Monday 21st October, 5:30-7 pm, Corrigan’s Beach Reserve, Batehaven
  • Thursday 24th October, 5:30-7 pm, Quota Park, Riverside Drive, Narooma
  • Monday 28th October, 5:30-7 pm, Riverside Park, Ford St., Moruya
