Heat and Smoke Haven: Moruya Preschool Kindergarten

15 Campbell St, Moruya

Moruya Preschool Kindergarten will open as a heat and smoke haven to its members and their families during extreme weather events.

Check to see if the haven open during an extreme weather event by calling Georgie Shepherd on 4474 2431 or emailing info@moruyapreschool.org.au

The preschool is well set up to accommodate families with young children, as it did during the Black Summer bushfires. SHASA has since successfully applied for funding to install solar panels and a battery so the centre can continue operations in the event of a power blackout.

In addition to airconditioning, the school has HEPA filters to ensure fresh air is circulated indoors in smoky conditions.

There are kitchen and bathroom facilities, including one shower and a baby change table.
