Women’s Climate Congress – Moruya workshop on 13 Sept (free)

13 September @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm

If you will be at the South Coast on 13-14 September, please come along to our workshop on the WCC Charter for Change on 13 September or stop by to say hello at the WCC stall at the Festival of Sustainable Choices in Moruya on 14 September.  And bring your friends – all welcome!  More details and registration below.

The invitation

We are inviting women from Brinja-Yuin country/Moruya and surrounds (and any visitors) to come together to hear about the calls to action in the WCC’s Charter for Change. This Charter captures the universal longings of women for action to secure the climate for themselves and future generations and it places these aspirations in an Australian policy and social context. It has been crafted through conversations with many 100s of Australian women since the WCC was established in 2020 in response to the Black Summer fires.

This is an opportunity to share with others your thoughts, ideas and aspirations and to look at ways of breathing life into the Charter at the local level – or to get involved in the national and international work of the WCC.

Why come along?

We know that the next 5 years are critical to getting policies and practices in place to secure the climate. Women are rising here and internationally in ever increasing numbers to take their full and rightful place in decision making to create a safe future for their children and grandchildren, and to usher in a policy shift towards compassion, kindness, care and nurture of all Earth Life.

Who will host the gathering?

Janet Salisbury, WCC founder, with WCC founding members Kirsten Anker and Lyn Stephens will introduce the Charter and invite us to explore together how South Coast women, individually or collectively, can lead and participate in Charter aligned actions. Through facilitated and interactive conversations this event will encourage you to develop your own response – whether it be artistic, cultural, social, economic or political. We’d love to see you and your friends there!
